Missionary Childhood Association has been in contact with Joe, a Maryknoll lay missionary. At the moment Joe is in Nepal providing aid and relief with other local groups to those affected by the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25, 2015 and most recent yesterday’s 7.3 magnitude earthquake. He is providing our office with updates every few days of the current situation. Here are some of his words as well as photos:

May 13, 2015: Definitely there are obstacles before us…but

Wednesday morning and the goods so needed in the villages are being delivered albeit a bit slower than the last couple of days.

The earthquake yesterday was another “blow” to Nepal with more loss of lives and landslides and lives changed forever. Some expressed to me feelings that are similar to those uttered by the Psalmist in Psalm 77: “Will God reject us forever? Will he show us his favor no more? Has his love vanished forever? Does God forget his mercy or in anger withhold his compassion?”

But today we continue to move forward and this has even been expressed more: “We suffer all kinds of afflictions and yet are not overcome!” (2 Corinthians 4:8)
Thanks for all your prayers and support that keep us moving…

Blessings, Joe
