MCA Youth Appreciation Mass Virtual Celebration – October 14, 2020
The annual MCA Youth Appreciation Mass for the youth and faculty is the largest gathering of Catholic elementary and secondary school children in the world. This unique Catholic experience highlights the natural generosity of our Younger Church and allows us to thank ALL personally for being Christ’s help to children around the world with a Eucharistic celebration, dancing, music and food.
However, due to these unprecedented times surrounding COVID-19, we will be celebrating the MCA Youth Appreciation mass VIRTUALLY! This year’s uncertainty and challenges surrounding the pandemic has brought us to be innovative in our annual celebration. Although we might not be able to gather like previous years, we would still like to recognize the missionary work of all the children that are part of MCA in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Among other highlights of this event is the announcement of the winners of the Christmas Artwork Contest whose winning artwork will be on display at the Basilica of National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. during the Advent/Christmas season.

To catch a glimpse of past MCA Youth Appreciation Mass: The Tidings Newspaper in Los Angeles, California received Honorable Mention for “Missionary Childhood Association Mass” by Paula Doyle, producer and Davy Cheng, editor. All of us here in the Mission Office are so glad to have this honorable mention at the 2014 Catholic Press Awards!
“A vibrant and energetic video that captures the spirit of the Missionary Childhood Association Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.”
