The Apostolic Life Community of Priests in the Opus Spiritus Sancti (a.k.a The Holy Spirit Fathers) – Africa Province

Transforming Lives, Nurturing Faith: Our Missionary Work in Tanzania

Welcome to our Missionary Community in Tanzania! We are dedicated to making a difference both locally and globally. In Tanzania, our outreach extends from educating children from Pre-K to High School, including orphans and those with special needs, to empowering women and girls through various programs. We also operate health centers in rural areas, providing essential medication and care to children, women, and the elderly. Our work extends beyond borders, with missions in the U.S. and other countries, where our members serve in various capacities, including pastoral support and religious education. Join us in our mission to transform lives and build a brighter future for all.

Mission Appeal:

Your support can make a profound difference in the lives of our seminarians, who are eager to serve as priests and missionaries of Jesus. Currently, we are facing the challenge of meeting the tuition fees for 77 major seminarians who are diligently studying both Philosophical and Theological Studies at Jordan University in Morogoro, Tanzania. These young men are not only excited and passionate about their vocation journey but also committed to growing in spiritual maturity to serve the Church and community.

Having an adequate number of priests is crucial to meet the spiritual needs of our local community and beyond. Your donation will directly support the formation of these young men, who will soon be ordained to serve as priests. Your generosity will help them grow in their faith and knowledge, preparing them to be effective missionaries of Jesus, and spreading His message of love and hope to all nations. Your assistance will not only support the seminarians but also contribute to the greater mission of the Church. Join us in answering Christ’s call to make disciples of all nations. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact. Thank you for considering supporting our mission.

The seminarians are actively involved in both their studies and agricultural activities, reflecting the society’s emphasis on hard work. In addition to academics, they participate in food production, such as harvesting sunflowers for oil extraction. The community grows various crops like corn, sunflowers, rice, and bananas to support their needs.

Where Do Our Priests Come From? They spring from the Formation of Hearts!

The formation of hearts from early childhood is fundamental to the holistic development of each child. This early formation shapes individuals to be open to discerning their vocation, whether it be priesthood, religious life, or other paths of service to the Church and Society. Through education, we aim to empower the youth, instilling in them values of compassion, resilience, and a desire to serve others, thereby shaping future leaders who will contribute positively to society.
