Founded in 1933 in Tanzania, the Daughters of Mary is a religious community of native women headquartered in the Archdiocese of Tabora, Tanzania. The sisters conduct ministries such as healthcare, pastoral work, social work, education, and children, youth, and women’s development in the most remote and rural parts of the country. Today there are over 390 sisters working in eight (8) different dioceses in Tanzania and 35 elderly/infirm sisters. We build, operate, and teach in primary schools and boarding secondary schools. We operate and staff dispensaries, clinics, and hospitals. We operate and staff a boarding school for 250+ deaf children. We conduct ministries within 8 Dioceses in Tanzania.

This year the funds from the mission appeal will go towards constructing a new building for our current and growing number of elderly and infirmed sisters. Their existing building is too small and lacks equipment to assist in their daily needs.  Also, without proper equipment and facilities, it is almost impossible to move or bathe our sisters who are weak or in wheelchairs. We would appreciate any donations that will help us to complete this project.  Thank you.
