Diocese of Tanga Tanzania #1326

A BRIEF INFORMATION ABOUT OUR MINISTRY IN THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF TANGA, TANZANIA

One of the major tasks the Catholic Diocese of Tanga faces is to make the presence of Jesus Christ and His Gospel known to more than 90% of the diocesan population which is not Catholic. Most of the people in the diocese are poor. They are living on a subsistent economy. Many people are living in the rural areas where they get very little opportunities for public education and public health. Even those who are living in urban centers where they are close to the public services, little is provided to them because of the government inability to finance those services. Every resource which the diocese earns is directed towards training and educating good church personnel to  preach the Good News to the hungry souls, erecting catholic schools for thousands of children, conducting adult literacy classes where basic life skills are taught, opening dispensaries in villages for primary health care, erecting simple church buildings for worshipping, initiating clean tap water projects in rural areas, and helping to erect small food storages in villages to help peasants during the times of shortage.

The funds we will obtain from your MCP 2025 in your ( Arch)Diocese will be used for: evangelization   by: educating our diocesan major seminarian through paying for their tuition fees, health insurances, and buying for their school supplies such as books, photocopies and stationaries (among them is a young man with albinism who becomes the first major seminarian and he will also be the first major seminarian with albinism to be ordained a transitory deacon then a priest in the country of Tanzania incardinated to the Diocese of Tanga). Many of these seminarians are now in formation and studies in our national Philosophical and Theological seminaries. Any help we can get from this mission appeal (MCP-2025) will be of vital in supporting their intellectual and spiritual formation to move on into priesthood.
