Support Health Programs through the Medical College in Warangal Diocese, India!

We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support for the mission of the Warangal Diocese in the realms of Evangelization, Education, and Healthcare. This Diocese encompasses 72,000 Catholics across 64 parishes and 220 mission villages, served by 160 priests, 650 religious men and women, and 360 catechists.

We have received approval from the National Medical Commission, a branch of the Indian central government, to establish the “Father Colombo Institute of Medical College.” The creation of a medical college is a significant and complex investment.

The Medical Mission of the Diocese of Warangal aims to establish hospitals, a medical school, and a nursing school to provide the highest quality treatment for the poor and marginalized, offering essential support to those in need. In March 2023, the National Medical Council of India granted permission for the Warangal Diocese to establish a Medical College with an approved intake of 159 students per year. Currently in its third year, the college boasts an enrollment of 450 students, with a projected increase to 600 by the fourth year, anticipating 150 medical graduates in 2027 and annually thereafter. This ambitious initiative requires collaboration to extend healing to the ailing and vulnerable.

Moreover, the medical college is set to benefit the larger community and provide opportunities for the younger generation to engage in healthcare careers. Our diocese is committed to the dual mission of Evangelization and improving physical health, enhancing the lives of individuals in need. In light of our shared objectives and the remarkable achievements of the Diocese of Warangal in similar initiatives, we are eager to explore the potential for a cooperative partnership between our dioceses. Together, we can amplify our efforts and effectively address the diverse needs of the tribal communities we aim to serve.
