Missionary Fraternity of Mary (Fraternidad Misionera de Maria) #1010
The Missionary Fraternity of Mary (Fraternidad Misionera de Maria) #1010
The Missionary Fraternity of Mary founded in 1985, amidst the chaos at the conclusion of a 35-year civil war and religious persecution, was established in Guatemala City to meet the religious and temporal needs of those who could least afford it.
Our mission in Guatemala began promoting vocations to the priesthood, bringing the good news of Jesus to the marginalized in different areas of the country, and later on, God blessed us to expand our mission to other countries with a missionary spirit.

The Missionary Fraternity of Mary is a Society of Apostolic life with diocesan right within the Roman Catholic Church dedicated to educating and ordaining young men to bring the Good News and the Sacrament to the marginalized Catholics of the world. As missionaries, we are dedicated to the needs of the poor, promoting vocations to religious life, prepare youth for lay ministry within the church.
The mother house of the Fraternity is located in Guatemala City, Central America.
This year in 2024, we have 55 seminarians in different levels of formation at our seminary in Guatemala City. Currently, we have 173 Missionary priests serving in 60 missions and 41 dioceses in 12 countries. Countries where the Fraternity has its missionary presence are Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Cuba, Canada, Italy, Kenya, and the United States (the Diocese of San Bernardino, California, and Milwaukee Archdiocese).
We are committed to the Universal Church to continue forming young people to the priesthood and to spread the good news to the poor. Our challenges are many since we don’t have monthly or yearly financial support from any institution in the Catholic Church in Guatemala. Our annual budget per seminarian is $3,500.

We seek funds to support our formation program in the seminary in Guatemala. Most of our students come from poor families and Mayan backgrounds in Guatemala, and they can’t afford to pay tuition. Many of them come from remote areas in Guatemala. We are also in great need to support our missions in Kenya, Peru, Venezuela, and Cuba. Thank you for your support to the Missionary Fraternity of Mary and the mission of the Universal Church.
